CHOICE Launches in Austria with Webinar on Product Impact Transparency

As CHOICE prepares to launch its first consumer campaigns in Germany during August 2025, we invite you to join our inaugural webinar on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 3:30 to 4:30 PM (CEST). The event is hosted by inoqo, the pilot leader for CHOICE in Austria, in collaboration with dm-drogerie markt (DM).

This online event will focus on how DM is using product impact transparency to reduce climate impact, create value for customers and suppliers, and prepare for the rollout of CHOICE campaigns in its stores.

The event will be moderated by Hélène Saurais, Co-Founder and CMO at inoqo and will feature:

  • Markus Linder, CEO and Co-Founder of inoqo
  • Theresa Schlegel, Ecological Sustainability Manager at dm-drogerie markt Deutschland

Why this Webinar matter?

Retailers play a crucial role in helping consumers make more sustainable choices. As one of Germany’s most trusted retailers, DM is taking the lead by using inoqo’s Product Impact Assessment platform to calculate Product Carbon Footprints, integrate primary data, and support a data-driven Scope 3 strategy.

This webinar will provide a look at how DM is using transparency not just to meet compliance standards, but to engage consumers and reduce the environmental impact of everyday purchases.

What You’ll Learn

The session will include real-world examples and insights from DM and inoqo. It will explore:

  • What CHOICE is and how it supports more sustainable grocery shopping habits in the DACH region through five digital and engagement campaigns delivered over the course of one year.
  • Why product carbon footprints and primary data are becoming essential for retailers.
  • How DM is applying these insights across private label and third-party products.
  • Key learnings from DM’s journey and how they inform upcoming CHOICE campaigns.
  • How the impact of the campaigns, targeting over 1,000 LOHAS and mainstream consumers, will be measured through A/B testing, behavioural models, and supported by data storytelling.
  • Discussion on balancing transparency, complexity, and consumer communication.

A Q&A session will follow, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with the speakers.

How It Connects to CHOICE

The CHOICE Horizon Europe initiative is designed to help people make food choices that are better for both their health and the planet. As highlighted through insights gathered during our three participatory labs—held to co-design the pilot campaigns—consumers respond most effectively to information that is personalized, practical, and seamlessly embedded into the shopping experience.

The upcoming CHOICE campaigns in Germany will reflect these findings. They will focus on promoting plant-based, low-impact products through strategies that resonate with real consumer behavior. This includes integrated recipe inspiration, tailored product suggestions, and engaging digital storytelling.

To bring these ideas to life, several CHOICE enablers will be activated—most notably, inoqo’s product labeling system, which helps shoppers understand the environmental impact of their choices at a glance.

This webinar provides a first look at how product impact data will power these campaigns and shift everyday purchasing decisions toward more sustainable outcomes.
