Join us for the CHOICE webinar “Women Shaping Climate & Sustainability: Science, Leadership and the Journey Behind It”, bringing together three women working across climate research, sustainability and innovation.

Through short presentations and an interactive discussion, the webinar will offer a closer look at women’s professional journeys in climate and sustainability research, combining scientific perspectives with personal experiences and lessons learned along the way.  

Meet the speakers

Prof. Dr. Phoebe Koundouri is Professor at the Athens University of Economics and Business & University of Cambridge; Founder and Director of AE4RIA Research Centers; Co-Chair, United Nations GSDR; President World Council of Environmental Economists; Chair Global Climate Hub. She works at the intersection of sustainability, climate, research, innovation and policy, collaborating with governments and industry to develop solutions to global climate challenges.  

Angela Magno, Director of Communication and Marketing at BIOAZUL and R&D&I Project Manager, has a background in Chemistry and Food Technology and over 10 years of experience in R&D&I projects, combining technical expertise with communication to promote sustainability.  

Prof. Dr. Mirjana Sakradžija, Professor of Physical Geography and Land-Atmosphere Coupling at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, works across physics, meteorology and environmental modelling, focusing on atmospheric processes, turbulence, clouds and land-atmosphere interactions.

Following the individual presentations, the speakers will come together for a moderated conversation exploring career paths and achievements, challenges and choices, work-life balance, leadership and the future of women in research and innovation. The webinar will conclude with an audience Q&A, giving participants the opportunity to join the conversation and ask questions directly to the speakers.
