Ambassadors play a crucial role in amplifying the message of the CHOICE project, engaging communities, and encouraging participation in our pilot campaigns across various regions.

What exactly is a Choice Ambassador?

The CHOICE Ambassadors are passionate and influential individuals committed to climate change mitigation actions. They are also dedicated to driving positive change in sustainable food systems. Ambassadors play a crucial role in amplifying the message of the CHOICE project, engaging communities, and encouraging participation in our pilot campaigns across various regions. 

Who are CHOICE Ambassadors?

CHOICE Ambassadors are individuals passionate about climate action and sustainable food systems—from experts and practitioners to communicators and community advocates.

What unites them is a shared commitment to driving change through everyday choices, raising awareness, and inspiring more sustainable behaviours across society.

Why are Ambassadors so important in CHOICE?

Ambassadors help us reach more people/targeted stakeholders and raise awareness about the importance of sustainable food practices. By sharing the CHOICE project’s message and encouraging stakeholders to get involved, Ambassadors play a vital role in promoting healthier, more sustainable choices that can make a real impact on climate. 

What do CHOICE Ambassadors do?

As CHOICE Ambassadors, they:

  • Inspire change
    Use their unique voice to share compelling content that highlights sustainable food practices and climate action—sparking conversations and motivating more conscious everyday choices.
  • Support awareness campaigns
    Contribute to CHOICE campaigns during pilot activities by sharing content, engaging in online initiatives, and helping amplify messages around sustainable food systems.
  • Represent CHOICE
    Actively represent the project at events, workshops, and conferences—connecting with communities, exchanging ideas, and strengthening a network of climate-conscious changemakers.

Meet CHOICE Ambassadors ​

Our Ambassadors come from diverse backgrounds, but they all share a passion for sustainability and climate action.

Alexander Theodoridis

Alexander Theodoridis is the Co-Founder and CEO of Boroume, a leading food-saving NGO in Greece. Since 2012, Boroume has saved over 100 million portions of food for 650+ charities. He holds degrees in Political Science and International Relations.

Fabrice DeClerck

Fabrice DeClerck is the Chief Scientist of EAT and a career researcher with the CGIAR, working on food systems. His main vision is: What foods we produce and consume, how and where we produce them, and how much we lose and waste have the power to feed 10 billion people within planetary boundaries. At EAT, the motto is "Food can Fix it!".

Luis Miguel Dominguez Resina

Luis Miguel Dominguez Resina is a passionate farmer committed to transforming the natural resources of the land into quality and sustainable products directly from the field to the consumer, through the Agri-Food Cooperatives channel. He is a producer of crops such as: Wheat, Sunflower, Rape, Corn, Potatoes, Tomatoes, Citrus, Olives. Luis graduate and completed master’s degree in marketing and Market Research. He is a member of the Governing Council of the Cooperative " and Productores del Campo" in Alcalá del Río (Seville).

Andrea Ćeran

Andrea is an engineering manager with over 20 years of experience in software engineering and technology leadership. She holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering and is completing a Master’s in Future Food Sustainability, focusing on the intersection of technology, food systems, and citizen behaviour by supporting local producers and strengthening urban–rural food connections through Rurbia network.

Dr Ilias Karachalios

Ilias Karachalios is an environmental educator and a manager with over 16 years of experience. He holds a PhD in Environmental Education. He conducts research at the National Technical University of Athens and lecture at Democritus University of Thrace. Ilias is passionate about sustainability, and he develops inclusive programs designed to inspire impactful citizenship

Prof Dr Nidhi Nagabhatla

Dr Nidhi Nagabhatla is an experienced professional with close to 25 years of demonstrated history of working in academic, government, and non-profit organizations. She is skilled in International Project Management, Food and Water Security, Decision Support Systems, Sustainable Development, and Environmental Issues. Currently, she leads the Nature, Climate, and Health program at UNU CRIS.

Marwa Moussaoui

Marwa Moussaoui is a Technical Operations Lead at STEG with 6+ years’ experience in high-voltage transmission and renewable energy. She has expertise in sustainable energy transitions, international collaboration, and climate communication to advance Africa’s equitable and resilient clean energy future.

María del Mar Paz Luna

María del Mar Paz Luna is an agricultural engineer by profession who has built her life around books and a deep desire to transform realities. At AMUCC, she found more than just a workplace; she discovered a family of brave, visionary women determined to change their lives and those of their families.

Unarine Mathivha

Unarine Mathivha is the founder of Lotsha Eco-Farm, a consultancy that helps smallholder farmers and NGOs in South Africa adopt climate-smart agricultural innovations aligned with global and regional policies. As Deputy Chairperson of the UNESCO-recognized Vhembe Biosphere Reserve Youth Network, he champions environmental sustainability and empowers youth-led climate action.

Hélène Saurais

Hélène built her career at global brands such as Adidas and Gucci, where she led complex international projects and global teams, specializing in CRM, digital, change management, and operations. Having lived across Europe and Asia, she witnessed firsthand the impact of pollution, which inspired her shift to sustainability. Today, she is Co-Founder of inoqo, leading Marketing and Customer Success to help the food industry reduce its environmental footprint
